The All Wall Extravaganza!

This past week has seen some serious improvements.

We have begun painting the walls, the ceilings, the floors. I have begun to paint my radiators.

I have finally turned on my hot water, apparently there's this knob and when it's turned one way, theres no hot water. Turn it the other way and the water gets hot. Who knew?

Kitchen cabinets are being installed, with lighting!

Well don't just take my word for it.

Whoa. When did Levar Burton get in here. Dude you're over there.

Anyway, check out the pics!
So the kitchen wall cabinets are up! And lit! We used 5 Xenon lights. It's funny, the box called them Halogen lights. Only thing is Xenon is a noble gas, its not a Halogen at all. Halogens are highly toxic, like Fluorine and Chlorine, Bromine, Iodine, and...ummmm..andddddd. Shoot I don't remember the last one. Well it's next to Polonium and its radioactive.

Anyway, my not halogen lights kick butt.

They sanded the floors. Since this picture was taken they have completely finished the floors. I however have no pictures of it since I was not allowed into the home for those 3 days. My only access to the house was through a 24 foot ladder to my balcony. I painted the majority of the upstairs in those 3 days.

Oh but check out the beast they used to finish the floors.

What a machine!

Ok moving on...

Seven of Three's new room. It has since received a second coat of paint and the floor is now the color Beachcomber, take a guess what it looks like.

The girls room is looking suitably girlie.

I have nearly finished our room, except someone knocked a hole in the wall (which I patched).

We will be moving en mass towards completing the downstairs.

Things are looking good.

Huge Update

But you gotta wait till tomorrow. I'm zonked. It's 10:25pm and I was ready for bed an hour ago. Yikes!

Next Up: Color on the walls! Cabinets on the walls! It's an all wall blowout!

June 31 - July 7, 2007

Remember that tiny crack in my ceiling due to a spilled bucket? Well, when I returned the next day to inspect the damage it appeared that Noah and his Flood had visited, as the hole in my ceiling was now about 100 times larger.
Clearly something would have to be done about that. Something future Proteinstar could worry about.

My Electrician buddy stopped by and helped my remove unsightly and dangerous outlets from where my bathtub was supposed to go. Helped me string my wiring up so that I could access it from my attic crawl space and generally taught me about the dangers of combining 12 and 14 wires, why aluminium wires is so 1970's and the thrill of racing at 40.

Those wires will later be put back within the confines of the crawl space but for now they're easy access.

Well after giving the bathroom some attention I decided to go back to the kitchen.

I started by removing the ceiling fan, I actually want to keep something in this house if you can believe it.

I then carefully selected a tool capable of inflicting a massive amount of destructive power upon centuries old plaster.

I wasn't long until the room was filled with tremendous clouds of plaster dust. Thank goodness I had an 98 cent mask over my face. I know that dime store wonder was certainly keeping all that lead paint and asbestos out of my lungs. HACK! KOFF!

Actually the coughing fits have gotten much better, and there's no more blood in my phlegm.

Well the clean up went quick with Rover helping out.

Behold my glorious bare ceiling! Of which only two pieces of lathe suffered any termite damage. My Wonderbar took care of those two defiled pieces of lumber.

At around 3pm the Haitian Sensation showed up and with the help of a massive Drywall Lift borrowed from the Nostromo we put the new ceiling up in 3 hours.

I don't have the pic of me riding around on that thing waving my pulse rifle about.

Behold my new ceiling!

Behold another artistically taken photo of my ceiling with the power loader...I mean drywall lift in the foreground.

Tune in tomorrow when we play...Is It Primer Or Is It Ultra White Trim Paint?
